Google Nexus 7 goes on pre-order in France, to visit Germany in September too

Asus-made Google Nexus 7 tablet isn’t doing too good a job at sneaking quietly around Europe after its official UK launch. First, Asus themselves broke its cover by posting on their Asus Italy Facebook page that the 16GB version will launch in early September at €250. Now, the Jelly Bean tablet has been spotted in France and Germany too.

French site Fnac is already taking pre-orders for the Nexus 7 and it seems that Asus is setting up a corner in a Berlin store. Oddly, all sightings so far have been of the 16GB version.

Fnac seems to have jumped the gun on the Nexus 7 pre-orders but Darty and Boulanger will also be offering the tablet. The latter two have yet to put it up on their sites, but Fnac isn’t shy about dispensing info – they expect the 16GB version to be in stock starting September 3, with a price tag of €250.

An intern from the German tech site Android Next stumbled onto something interesting too – he was in a store in Berlin after closing yesterday where he saw an Asus table being set up. The store employees let it slip that it’s for the Nexus 7.

Today, after some more poking around the site reports that a 16GB Nexus 7 will launch on September 3, for the same €250 price. They couldn’t confirm if the tablet will come with Play Store credit or not (in the US you get $25 credit).

Of course, all this info is unofficial (even the Asus Italy Facebook post should be taken with a grain of salt). But you can be almost certain that the pricing info will turn out correct in the end.

Thanks to Frank Ritter for the tip!

Next gen iPhone to allegedly go on pre-order on September 12

Last month we reported that the next generation iPhone is said to be unveiled on September 12. Now according to the latest information, once again courtesy iMore, the next iPhone will be available for pre-order on the very same day.

This is an interesting change because if you look at the previous iPhone launches, the phone went on sale several days after it was announced by Apple. The strategy of releasing the product on the same day as launch is synonymous with Apple's computers and not their mobile devices (except for the iPods).

iMore is also reporting that apart from going on sale on September 12 in the US, the new iPhone will hit international markets in the first week of October, around October 5.

OUYA Android console goes on pre-order, expected to launch in April 2013

OUYA did it! The Android-based gaming console wrapped its Kickstarter campaign, raising $8,596,475 from 63,416 backers. Missed it? Don’t sweat it, the beautiful looking thing is now available for pre-order.

OUYA didn’t waste any time putting the thing out there for pre-order. However, you’ll have to wait until April 2013 to get your unit.

But don’t let that put you off, as the pricing isn’t as bad as one would imagine for a project that scored one of the most successful Kickstarter funding of all time. The pre-order price for a console coming with one controller is $99. If you want two controllers its $129, and $189 for four controllers. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

That price, however, doesn’t include shipping. If you are based in the United States it’s additional $10 and $20 for outside the US.

Are you getting one?

Nokia 808 PureView surfaces on pre-order in the UK

We've already seen Nokia 808 PureView pre-orders pop up elsewhere but now we're talking the UK.

Clove.co.uk now offers the ultra-high-megapixel cameraphone but the pricetag is a bit harder to swallow than the one we saw from Nokia Italy. With the VAT included, the UK price amounts to 538.80, which is roughly 655, while Nokia Italy's asking price is 599.

We hope other UK retailers chime in on that one and make a more palatable offer for the Nokia 808. A Dutch retailer, for instance, has a pre-order listed at 565.

Clove doesn't mention a release date but the Nokia Italy pre-order had May as a projected time frame for the launch of the highly anticipated cameraphone.
